Dalglish: Reds still an ‘attractive proposition’

Liverpool – Kenny Dalglish has got high hopes for his beloved club,Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish remains confident the club can attract top players to Anfield despite the lack of European football next season.

It's the first time in over a decade that the Reds will not be competing in one of the continent's top two club competitions, but the Scot does not feel it will have the impact that many pundits are suggesting.
"I've heard people say us not playing in Europe means we won't be an attractive proposition for some players. I disagree," said the manager in his Liverpool FC magazine column.
"The history and tradition of this club makes us attractive whether we are or aren't involved in European competition. If a player thinks otherwise we are better off without him."
The last time Liverpool failed to qualify for Liverpool, Didi Hamann, Sami Hyypia, Stephane Henchoz and Vladimir Smicer all moved to Merseyside under Gerard Houllier.

A similarly large influx is expected this summer, with the club legend revealing last week that he's keen to bring the 'highest calibre' targets to the club this summer.

A left back and winger are thought to be the main priority, with director of football Damien Comolli working alongside the Liverpool boss to try and bring the best players to the club.
